Educators demonstrate a broad knowledge base and an understanding of areas they teach.
I work to develop a deep understanding of the subjects I teach and this is demonstrated in the following comment written by my coaching teacher and practicum evaluator in the summative practicum report for my most recent practicum.
“Ocean displayed excellent content knowledge across multiple subject areas, including Science, Math, Social
Studies, and English Language Arts (ELA), where she was formally observed. Her plans were grounded in a solid understanding of the BC curriculum expectations and reflected her ability to incorporate critical educational principles such as the First Peoples Principles of Learning (FPPL), differentiated instruction, inclusive practices, and formative assessment strategies.”
